(source) In 2019, Shahid Khan became the lead investor for All Elite Wrestling (AEW), a professional wrestling promotion set to compete with global leader World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). According to CBS Sports, it’s the first professional wrestling promotion in the United States in over twenty years that can financially compete with WWE; the first since World Championship Wrestling (WCW) closed its doors in March of 2001.

(source) Despite being one of the richest owners in all of sports, Shahid Khan failed to meet payroll for the Black News Channel, ultimately laying off 230 employees. Of the twenty richest owners in sports, he’s one of five billionaires who own an NFL franchise, along with Rob Walton (Denver Broncos), David Tepper (Carolina Panthers), Stan Kroenke (Los Angeles Rams), and Jerry Jones (Dallas Cowboys).
    1. Shahid Khan is the first member of an ethnic community to own an NFL team. (source) Shahid Khan purchased the Jacksonville Jaguars from former owner Wayne Weaver on November 29, 2011 for $770 million. As of August 2022, the franchise is worth $3.475 billion.
